Addie Luginbyhl
MA, LPC
Addie is a Master’s Level, Licensed Professional Counselor. She earned her Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Counseling and Psychology from Texas A&M University–Commerce in 1998. She also holds a Master’s degree in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Master’s degree in School Counseling from Amberton University.
Addie is passionate about providing support for others as they seek to heal wounds and maximize their potential in this life. She spent the first 25 years of her career working in other helping fields including foster care, YoungLife, military, education, and high school counseling. Her clinical experience began as the staff counselor for juvenile offenders in Hunt County. From there she moved into private practice. Her experience working with teenagers, men, women, and families from diverse populations and varied ages/life stages has led Addie to believe that a positive therapeutic relationship is essential to cultivating healing, health, and hope. Her desire is to meet her clients where they are with compassion, empathy, warmth, understanding and lack of judgment.
She believes that we are all moving through life doing the best that we know how with the tools that we have. Life beats us up and we can adopt coping skills that can sometimes cause further damage. We take on beliefs about ourselves and others that are not positive, helpful, or true. At times we need the help of an outside, objective professional to help us correct false beliefs, and harmful coping skills, and provide support for us as we navigate our way through difficult seasons. Pursuing this support is one of the bravest things an individual can do for themselves. Addie understands this and knows that taking that first step can be scary. Let her walk through it with you!
In her spare time, Addie enjoys spending time playing board games, traveling, and attending concerts with her husband, James. They have a rescue pug and a Catahoula mix that keeps them on their toes. She also enjoys quiet time alone to recharge and is a huge advocate of self-care!
